  1. This is a fascinating site and very timely for me. I am looking to get started with video soon, so will be starting from scratch with the basics. The recommendations for the free options are of most interest at the moment, but I do appreciate that you get what you pay for, so I might need to invest eventually.
    Best Regards

    1. Hi John,
Thanks for taking the time to check out my site and comment. I appreciate the interaction. There are some pretty good free options that you can make videos with. Not so long ago the free software I show here was all the rave and lots of people still use these free softwares. In all honesty and in the sake of easing your struggle, you may want to check out some of the programs on my page “what is the best video creation software”. Not so I can make a buck but because I’ve been there done that. For under $60 you can get some really slick software that will save you soooo much time and effort. I use to make videos with Powerpoint. It was a blast! you can do some really cool stuff with Powerpoint. I did spend a lot of time learning the basics. I guess the main take away from this reply and the philosophy of my website is have some fun with it! I wish you all the best John and let me know if you need anything.

  2. Hi Mitch,
Your website is fabulous and will help many to make their websites more interesting.
I really loved video pal. I use videos on my website but, this is taking it to another level.
You can really see your experience and passion shining through on your website. That is described very nicely in your About You page.
    Thank you very much,

    1. Hi Bobby,
Thank you for taking the time to look over my website and leaving a comment. VideoPal is a great tool to engage your site visitors with simple directions and narrative. Thank you for the nice comments and please let me know if you need anything.

  3. Hey Mitch!
Great info on your site. I too am thinking about jumping on the video bandwagon in the near future. I’m not really the “wanting to be in front of a camera type of guy” I’m curious, what would be the best software to use that would create more of a power point type of content and turn it into video? Maybe with some white board frames mixed in? Newbie to video creation.

    1. Hi Steve, Thanks for taking the time to check out my website. I’m glad you want to get started with making your own videos. I have four great options for you. The first two are freebies. 1. YouTube Video Creator is free and designed so you can upload your own pictures, or video. It is a good way to get your feet wet. You can check out my article here to find out more. 2. Power Point is a good way to make slide style videos. You can also upload your own video clips into Power Point. I do not have an article on Power Point but you can check out their getting started page here. The next two options are going to be better for what you want to do. You can make slide style, 2d, 3d, whiteboard sketch, and full motion video and you can combine all the styles into one video if you want. 3. Explaindio is $59 per year to use and this is probably my favorite package. You can read my full review on Explaindio here. 4. VideoMaker FX is $47 for a one time price. VideoMaker Fx is a lot like Explaindio and you can read my full review on VideoMaker FX here.

Check these options out Steve. I think you will find one of these will work for you. Please let me know if you have any other questions and thanks for stopping in.

  4. Hey Mitch,

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I have been searching high and low to find a simple video creation software. I am not tech savvy so the easier the better.

I need to upload some videos to my Website. I am also trying to venture into YouTube videos for my Website so these will come in handy.

I think I am going to start off with the Microsoft PowerPoint videos first so I can transition better into video editing. Great suggestion there

Do you ave any suggestions for doing “voice over” videos and screen recording? I am yet to figure it out. Any good tutorials out there?

    1. Hi Crystal and thanks for checking out my website.  I think Power Point is a great free option.  It will take you a day or two to get used to how everything works but if you follow the instructions you should not have too many issues.  You can do your own voice over recording right inside of Power Point.  Once you have built your slide just record your voice to go along with the slide.  I have not yet put together any material on Voice Over work and Screen Recording.  I will work toward getting this done down the road as time permits.

If you want to get up and running fast you should check out Explaindio $59, and VideoMaker FX $47.  Both of these software programs will give you a huge jump start on getting your videos done and are both easier to learn than Power Point.  Just click on the links to read my full reviews.

I hope this helps you out and please let me know if you need help.

  5. Hello Mitch,
Your article is very informative. Im planning to make my own videos too, atleast now I know where to go. Usually we just pay upfront and create one. Free is always good, atleast I can try it and can decide later if I wanna go further right? Thanks for the infos.

    1. Hi Lissa,  Thanks for checking out my website.  This page offers some good free basic editors to make your own videos with.  If you are going to be making a lot of videos you will save a lot of money if you learn to make your own videos.  You can try some of these free options and see what you think.  It may take you a little bit to get the hang of the software but once you get the basics you should be good to go.

I also have two video creation software packages that I like to use that you may want to take a look at.  They are very powerful software packages and are not expensive.  If you want to learn more about them you can read my full reviews by just clicking on the name of the software packages listed here.  Explaindio, VideoMaker FX, and VideoPal.

Thanks for stopping in and let me know if you have questions.
